Fundraising & Volunteering

Student Action is a student-led volunteering organisation based in the SU (2nd floor). We run over twenty different projects within the local community helping lots of different people, from children, the elderly, people with learning disabilities, refugees and environmental projects.

Organises local community projects providing free legal advice through workshops and presentations to schools and communities.

We collect disused books from local schools and re-distribute them to the developing world. To do this we fundraise & also deliver presentations to the local schools in order to teach children about Read and encourage global awareness.

The Reach Out! Society supports and promotes the activities of Reach Out! the volunteer mentoring charity, through organising fundraising events, socials and raising awareness on campus.

A fun society that fundraises, campaigns and organises events for causes that Oxfam supports. Regular meetings and plenty of social events!

MAG Society helps to raise money and awareness for the charity MAG (MINES ADVISORY GROUP); A humanitarian organisation clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide.

MIPS is a student run society that arranges for students to help out with primary school teaching.

A student branch of the Antony Nolan Trust, working to save lives from leukaemia by producing the country's largest bone marrow register.

Manchester RAG is responsibe for all the student fundraising in Manchester and organise many events throughout the year ranging from weekly street collections to a 55 mile sponsored walk to Beer festivals to expeditions up Everest and Kilimanjaro.
